Do you know what the number one type of toy in the toy industry is? Action figures. Astounded? E
very year more and more new toy companies emerge and jump onto the toy scene with their own depiction of action figures. Aside from new toy companies appearing on the scene, established toy companies expand their line. Why are these companies frantically creating more action figures? Supply and demand.

The biggest revenue grossing form of entertainment in the World is movies. Every year hundreds of movies are released in thousands of theaters worldwide. The promotion these movie companies give to their latest releases is monstrous; not to mention their advertising campaigns. The buck doesnt stop there either. The toy manufacturers work with the film companies to license the characters from the film. The licensed toy that the public wants the most is action figures. These action figures are sought after by collectors, kids, teens, adults, just about everyone is included in the mix .

What makes these so in-demand? Perhaps, its the accessories that each mostly likely comes with. A variety of accessories can include weapons, base stands for display, interchangeable heads with various facial expressions, clothes, etc. Just about all that is related to that character is going to appear as an accessory. Some of the large sized figures include authentic sound clips from the movie the characters star in. These quotes are direct quotes from the film that the character has brought to life.

Another aspect of appeal is the concentration to detail and artistry involved. Action figures are artistic creations in that these film characters are 1 dimensional. A sculptor has to recreate these fun characters to scale in a 3-dimensional configuration. One can only be amazed by noticing the artistic ability involved. I hate to say it, but Ive noticed that no two figures are alike. Since some figures are hand-painted, each action figure is different. Dont get me wrong, theyll all appear the same, but if you take that extra minute or two and observe, youll find that each one has its own unique qualities.

So, the next time you venture to the movies and engage yourself in a new release, just remember that there is a good chance that the character youre watching on the big screen could ultimately be the next addition to your action figure collection!
